About MARA

MARA isn’t just a streetwear brand—it’s a statement. Born in the heart of Glasgow, under the ever-watchful gaze of the Billy Connolly mural, MARA was founded by Sean Cosgrove with a mission to disrupt the fashion industry’s broken system. We exist as a collective, challenging the status quo, proving that bold design and ethical production can go hand in hand.

Our Mission

At MARA, we’re here to rewrite the rules. The fashion industry has long prioritized profit over people, pushing out trends at an unsustainable pace with little regard for the hands that make them. We refuse to be part of that cycle. Every piece we create is rooted in transparency, fair wages, and sustainable practices—because great design shouldn’t come at a human or environmental cost.

The MARA Collective

The name MARA is no accident—it speaks to both rebellion and community. Drawing from the Buddhist demon of desire and the Spanish word for a gang or collective, MARA represents a movement of like-minded individuals who believe in something greater than just clothing. We collaborate with grassroots organizations, raise funds for social justice initiatives, and stand behind causes that matter. Fashion is culture, and culture is power—we use ours to create real change.
